That their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, -Col 2:2

Meets 2nd Saturday of the month in the K-1st grade room from 10:30am- 1pm.

What is it?
The Knitting ministry is a ministry of women from the body who prayerfully knit or crochet special hats, scarves, baby booties and baby hats. The adult hat and scarves have a sewed on Scripture tag (John 3:6), while the baby booties and hats have a tag with “Jesus loves me”. The desire is for the Holy Spirit to minister to the hearts of the recipients and whosoever comes into contact with them. The prayer is to see lives drawn closer to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, “That their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love” as Colossians 2:2 tells us. It is also a time to come together to praise, pray and fellowship.

How does it work?
Anyone who wants to participate is welcome to help. No prior knowledge of how to knit or crochet is needed. We also need servants to clean up embroidered tags, sew them by hand and lovingly package items. We meet twice a month at the church. You can also complete your projects at home to be turned in for prayer. We have easy and intermediate patterns to follow.

Who gets these items?
Hats and scarves go to annual downtown outreaches in both Reno and Las Vegas. Prayer Shawls are gifted to those who are in need of our Lord’s comfort as they grieve the passing of a loved one. Baby booties and baby hats go primarily to the non-profit faith based organization Women’s resource Medical Center. They are then gifted to clients who receive a positive pregnancy test. We hear countless testimonies of women who have kept their babies after receiving either a baby hat or baby booties.

That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgment of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ. -Colossians 2:2
